FOLLETT INTRODUCES THE INDUSTRY'S MOST ADVANCED UPRIGHT REFRIGERATORS

Follett Corporation, the industry leader in medical-grade undercounter refrigerators and freezers, has introduced a line of high performance single door upright refrigerators with advanced features that provide superior cabinet-wide cooling, complete user-programmable monitoring and alarming, and important energy-savings.

Follett's new refrigerators feature an advanced airflow design: forced air enters the cabinet interior through six slots in a back plenum to deliver superior temperature consistency at all levels in the cabinet, even when heavily loaded with product. A powerful, all-in-one top-mounted refrigeration module eliminates the interior hanging evaporator and fan assembly found in other designs and increases the useable storage space while providing the performance needed for critical product storage.

An easy-to-read 3" LCD screen displays product temperature and alarm/feature status and provides navigation to all user-selectable features. Audible and visual alarms include high and low temperature, power failure, door ajar, low battery and probe errors.  User selectable features include alarm set points, volume and mute, backup battery status, password protection, calibration and refrigeration system controls. Blood bank models are equipped with a 6" chart recorder. An RS-485 port streams alarms, product temperatures and system performance to a central monitoring systems.

Follett designed all models with important energy-saving features such as full-length LED light bars that eliminate the delay of fluorescent bulbs, consume significantly less energy and generate virtually no heat. A full 2.75" of CFC-free foam insulation reduces conduction heat loss, refrigerator run time and power consumption by as much as 40% compared to other models. And the special low-E coating on Follett's dual-pane glass door also reduces energy loss by 30 - 50%.

Six models in 20 and 24 cubic foot capacities are available - all standard with stainless steel exteriors and interiors to deliver long cabinet life and resist the rust and scratches that occur with other surfaces. Interior storage configurations include full extension epoxy-coated baskets or stainless drawers, as well as epoxy-coated shelves.

Follett has been designing and manufacturing innovative equipment for the healthcare market since 1948. Follett's commitment to superior design and construction as well as outstanding customer service has resulted in our unparalleled reputation for excellence with customers around the world

FOLLETT INTRODUCES THE NEXT MODEL IN THEIR LINE OF ICE PRO AUTOMATIC BAGGING SYSTEMS

Easton, PA - Follett Corporation announced a new model in their line of Ice ProTM automatic bagging systems:  the Ice Pro model DB650.  As with all Ice Pro products, automatically bagging ice with the DB650 costs a fraction of buying pre-packaged ice.  Bagging ice with Ice Pro averages 20¢ per bag compared to up to $1.00 or more for pre-bagged ice -- saving tens of thousands of dollars a year depending on ice usage.   The new, more cost effective DB650 model fits into a 34" wide footprint and can be installed under an 8' ceiling with most icemakers.  The DB650 has new user-friendly controls, making it quicker and easier to use.  Operators can bag up to six 8 lb bags of ice per minute with the DB650.  Additionally, the DB650 design can hold up to 650 pounds of ice to support high sales volumes even with its smaller footprint.    Anywhere pre-packaged ice is sold or used is a potential cost-savings application for Ice Pro.  Hands-free dispensing with Ice Pro means sanitary ice transfer to just about any container:  bags, ice chests, buckets, totes and carts, making Ice Pro ideal for convenience stores, supermarkets, beverage stores, marinas, dispatch centers and any other location where bagged ice is used.

New Symphony Ice-Only Dispenser shown with SensorSAFE dispensing

NEW FOLLETT ICE-ONLY DISPENSERS FOR SAFER, MORE SANITARY ICE

Easton, PA - Follett Corporation has recently added new "ice-only" models to its line of Symphony™ ice and water dispensers.  These new ice-only models are extensions of Follett's popular 12 Series, storing 12 pounds of ice and producing up to 400 pounds of ice a day.  The 12CI400A-LI (lever dispense) and the 12CI00A-SI (SensorSAFE™ infrared dispense) are compact, 16" wide icemaker/dispensers that make and provide hands-free dispensing of ice for improved sanitation compared to scooping ice out of open bins or containers.  Perfect for offices, iced coffee programs, or anywhere there is a need to reduce the potential for cross-contamination, Follett's new dispensers produce high quality Chewblet® ice that is preferred by more than two-thirds of consumers.

"The concern for food safety, including ice, is very high and Follett's new ice maker/dispensers are specifically designed to offer customers a more sanitary way to provide ice, especially in offices and smaller retail establishments,"  according to Steve Follett, CEO.  "At the same time, interest in iced coffee has exploded and one of the biggest challenges retailers have is a safe, sanitary supply of ice at the coffee bar.  With Follett ice maker/dispensers, they now have an effective solution."

Display in Follett's NAFEM booth "illuminates" ice-through-a-tube technology

HIGH QUALITY LEADS AND BEST LAYOUT EVER FOR FOLLETT BOOTH AT 2009 NAFEM SHOW

Easton, PA — Although the perspective from last month's NAFEM show (February 5-7 in Orlando, FL), the largest equipment-only show in North America, was that traffic appeared slower than usual, the quality of the leads generated at the Follett booth was high, and the booth had more consultant traffic than ever before.  "We targeted doubling the number of leads we achieved in 2007 and we more than exceeded that goal," said Steve Follett, president and CEO of Follett Corporation.  "Additionally, the customer feedback on the booth was tremendous.  People were able to see, hands-on, the value and unique solutions that Follett provides."

Located on a peninsula at space 1030, the Follett Corporation booth provided the "best layout ever for its ability to highlight the value added innovation that Follett offers," Follett said.  The Follett booth proudly displayed Follett's consumer-preferred Chewblet® ice, produced by Follett Symphony™ ice and water dispensers, the broadest product line of this type in the industry.  Chewblet ice was also produced by Follett's Horizon™ ice machines with ice fed through the Ice Manager™ diverter valve system to two separate dispense points.  Follett Corporation also previewed a new automatic dispensing and bagging system, the Ice Pro™ DB650 dispenser.  The DB650 is scheduled to launch this summer and squarely addresses the need for improved profitability by giving operators the chance to bag their own ice.  On site ice manufacturing and bagging can be accomplished for pennies per pound, vs. the $1.25/bag for pre-packaged ice.  The new DB650 is 20% lower in price than the DB1000 and occupies a smaller footprint.  Follett's broad array of innovative ice storage and transport solutions, including its ITS and Ice•DevIce™ systems were also displayed.  In addition to this broad display of innovative ice products, the Follett booth proudly highlighted its 60th anniversary of being in business!

Having been involved with NAFEM for over 15 years, and having served on the board for 5 years, Follett believes that the NAFEM organization is important to everyone in the industry.  "The organization itself is a great way to network with others in the industry as well as do some benchmarking with industry peers, and the NAFEM show is the best way for manufacturers to show product to their prospective customers," said Follett.  Steve Follett was Trade Show Chair of NAFEM 2009 and is currently President-elect of NAFEM.

Founded in 1948, Follett Corporation is a leading manufacturer of ice-related equipment, including, icemakers, ice storage and transport equipment, ice and beverage and ice and water dispensing equipment for the foodservice and healthcare markets worldwide.

Award winning Ice Manager

FOLLETT'S AWARD WINNING ICE MANAGER™ EXHIBITED AT NAFEM'S WHAT'S HOT! WHAT'S COOL! NEW PRODUCT GALLERY

Easton, PA — After having been voted Foodservice Consultants Society International's 2007 Product of the Year, and receiving the 2008 Kitchen Innovations Award presented by the National Restaurant Association, Follett's Ice Manager™ was also chosen to be displayed at the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers (NAFEM) What's Hot! What's Cool! New Product Gallery.

The Ice Manager is a revolutionary new product that automatically fills two bins or dispensers with one Horizon™ icemaker. ‘Smart' technology monitors ice levels to deliver ice to the dispenser or bin where it's needed most. Foodservice operators can devote their time to serving guests instead of worrying about filling dispensers. Potential for contaminating ice and slips and falls is also reduced by eliminating manual handling of ice.

Ice Manager can fill virtually any type of dispenser or bin, including drop-in soda dispensers. Follett's exclusive ice-through-a-tube technology permits installation of the ice machine up to 75' away from the ice and beverage dispenser for an upscale look without the heat and noise of an icemaker in the dining area.
