Position Summary

This position will involve designing, planning and leading projects that improve business processes and business effectiveness through development, maintenance, and deployment of functionality related to Follett's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application. Responsible for designing, coding and testing the most complex computer programs and/or systems on a regular basis in accordance with established standards to deliver information essential for management decision support and daily operations. This position requires critical judgment, a high level of initiative, a wide degree of creativity and complex reasoning to solve department-level and company-wide issues.

Experience

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the field or related area.
  • Previous experience working with a wide range of modules within an ERP application.
  • Demonstrated mastery of relational databases including SQL Server. Working knowledge of multi-valued and Pick-style databases such as UniData (U2).
  • Demonstrated mastery of object oriented programming, client-server concepts and developing software based on requirement specifications. This may include Visual Basic, ASP and Java. Working knowledge of the .NET framework.
  • Demonstrated mastery to write and interpret well structured source programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading medium to large-scale projects.

Position Summary

This position will support process development, production, assembly tooling design, factory layouts, and continuous improvement projects by developing CAD models and layouts of factory floor, tooling, and moderately complex mechanisms with support of manufacturing and industrial engineering. Accurately documents process and tooling design intent in accordance with Follett Standards.

Education

Graduate of Technical or Vocational School or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional product or process design experience.
  • Demonstrated 2D and 3D CAD Solid Modeling skills. AutoCAD Inventor design software experience preferred for the development of design concepts and product documentation.
  • Sound mechanical design aptitude; knowledge of basic engineering analysis such as material selection, fastening techniques, simple force and stress, and tolerancing.
  • General knowledge of various fabrication and component manufacturing.
  • General knowledge of assembly processes and plant layout techniques in both batch and single piece flow environments. Experience with lean manufacturing techniques is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication and the ability to work well within teams and as an individual contributor.

Essential Responsibilities/Functions

  • Utilize 2D/3D CAD tools to develop and communicate design concepts for complete models, layouts, and details for new or revised tooling, assemblies and components. 
  • Complete tooling design documentation including design models, assembly drawings, component details and specifications, item descriptions and BOM's that are consistent with established standards and procedures.
  • Work with manufacturing/industrial engineers and other team members to develop new factory layout concepts and improve flow of existing assembly processes. 
  • Conceptualize, develop, initiate and implement innovative solutions to meet business goals and factory needs.
  • Procure, test and verify new and existing manufacturing techniques to implement within products and processes.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of design projects and production activities.
  • Provide direction to the model shop for the fabrication and assembly of prototypes and test set-ups.
  • Assist on the manufacturing floor during new product introductions, implementation of process modifications, and participate in continuous improvement kaizen events.

Essential Responsibilities/Functions

  • Conducts recruitment effort for all U.S. exempt and nonexempt personnel, interns and temporary staffing needs; utilize external placement resources as required based on position
  • Conducts applicant sourcing activities to include internal job postings, Follett website posting, newspaper advertisement, online job boards, social media and outside recruiters and staffing agencies as appropriate Coordinates internal approval to hire process in accordance with Company and department guidelines
  • Conducts candidate phone screens to select individuals for initial interviews in accordance with educational background, job experience, and salary requirements.

Education
